Paul McCann

The patron master of our school, Paul has been studying the martial traditions of rennaissance and medieval europe for over 30 years. In the SCA he is known as Maestro Guidobaldo d' Aquila,

Although as he will be the first to tell you he dislikes the title Maestro, most who have had the opportunity to talk to him, listen to him, or learn from him believe his title is appropriate. When Paul is teaching or fighting, he is often surrounded by a crowd of people who come to watch, observe and learn.

When time permits you will often find him in his armor working on new theories, further developing technique or correcting the technique of his personal students.

Lee S. Smith

A fighting apprentice to Paul, Lee has been training with various weapons for over 10 years. His specialties include knife, dagger, rapier, and side sword. Over the years he has had the good fortune to have trained with and learned from such noted martial artists as Braun McCash, Bill Wolfe, Scott Brown, Brad Waller, Colin Richards, Alex Kiermayer, Paul McDonald, and Mishael Lopes Cardozo.

He actively studies and follows the traditional western fighting traditions of Achille Marozzo, Capo Ferro, Joachim Meyer and Durer as well the more contemporary knife fighting ideals of W.H.Fairbairn and Col. Rex Applegate.

Lee is most often found nose-deep in an anatomy or fighting manual, with sword in hand testing out a new theory, or proving himself on the field of honor
